"Celebrate endings, for they precede new beginnings."-Jonathan Lockwood Huie

While I was house hunting, my lease for my beloved apartment ended and reverted to a month to month lease. This was actually really great! It meant when I found a house I would have the quick flexibility to get out of my apartment when I did find a house.

Finding a house that needs so much work came down to choices- stay in the apartment and pay a rent and mortgage, or move back home and use that spare cash for all the wonderful things I'm going to put into this new house? Well, was a no brainer- I'm headed home for a couple months!

The hard part was actually moving out. I love this apartment so much! It may be my favorite place so far! It was huge! So cheap for the area, close to work, walking distance in downtown and all the cute shops, freshly rehabbed top to bottom with a brand new kitchen and bathroom. I am legitimately sad to be leaving this adorable apartment! It feels like an era is over.

Another obvious bummer about moving is the actual MOVING. I'm so shitty at moving, especially packing. I started by putting things into boxes, then was so slow I went to IKEA and bought about 20 of those large blue shopper bags and put all of my clothes, shoes, purses, bedding and toiletries in them to haul back. Eventually I called in some help because I was drowning. I mean, I guess I can't be brilliant at everything and I have to accept that packing is just one of my weaknesses. Hopefully the move into my house in a few months will be the last one I do in a long, long time.

This is me, in my last apartment ever, after a long day of packing and cleaning. I'm happy to be moving on to better things, but sad to be leaving this adorable place.
YES, I FILLED THE WHOLE TRAILER AGAIN. I have a lot of purging to do.

Dumping the Drop Ceiling

As much as I love my house, there is one major feature that I don't love- the drop ceiling!  Unfortunately it's a prominent feature ...
